My corn snake suddenly darted around his viv and began thrashing about for several seconds. Any ideas?

It was the vibrations that freaked him out. Snakes can be VERY sensitive to vibrations. You don't feel them but he does. It probably felt like a herd of large animals running his way and he was trying to get out of their way. He should be fine now that the imagined danger is past.
