Enclosing an area of the garage?

I live in TX, and in the infinite wisdom of the builders here, the laundry room is out in the garage. I want to build a wall and enclose the area, and move the exterior door out to the new wall. Meaning there's an exterior door on the breakfast room, off into the garage, and I want to replace it with an interior door. My real concern however, is how to put the wall up. Can I just rent a T-nailer and nail the footer into the concrete, or do I need to rent an hammer drill and drill into the slab for bolts to be inserted and epoxied in?
